Meet Our Principal: Randall Keith Jackson

Welcome to Tarrant High School! I am honored to serve as your principal and lead our exceptional community of learners, educators, and staff. This marks my fifth year at Tarrant High School and my 13th year in administration.

Educational Background
My journey in education began with my own high school experience at Jackson High School in Jackson, AL, where I graduated with an Advanced Diploma. I pursued higher education with passion and dedication, earning:

  • An Associate's degree in Paper and Chemical Technology from Alabama Southern Community College (1996–1998)
  • A Bachelor of Science in Science Comprehensive (Pre-Med), graduating Cum Laude from the University of West Alabama (2002–2006)
  • A Master of Education in Instructional Leadership from the University of West Alabama (2011–2013)

Professional Experience
My career path has been diverse, providing me with a unique perspective on the many opportunities available to our students:

  • Worked in the industrial sector at Gulf States Paper (1999–2006)
  • High school science teacher and coach (2006–2013)
  • School administrator since 2013, with 13 years in administration and 5 years at Tarrant High School

My Vision for Tarrant High School
My diverse background in both industry and education fuels my passion for helping students reach their full potential. I believe every student has unique talents and aspirations, and it is our responsibility to nurture these qualities and provide clear pathways to success.

Having experienced both the industrial and academic worlds, I understand the broad range of opportunities available beyond high school. Whether students pursue higher education, trade careers, or enter the workforce directly, I am committed to ensuring Tarrant High School offers the guidance, resources, and support needed for each student to achieve their goals.

At Tarrant High School, our mission is clear: empowering learners today to be leaders tomorrow. We are not just preparing students to graduate; we are preparing them for life. Our focus is on developing well-rounded individuals equipped to face future challenges with confidence, skills, and purpose.

Meet Our Assistant Principal : Tamisha J. Williams

I am delighted to serve as your Assistant Principal at Tarrant High School. With 25 years of dedicated service in education, I bring a wealth of experience and a passionate commitment to supporting our entire school community - from our administrators and faculty to our students, parents, and the broader Tarrant community.

• Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (English and Political Science)- May 2000 (Cum Laude)

• Master of Education in Instructional Leadership - May 2021

Professional Journey
With over two decades in education, I have had the privilege of serving:

  • 11 years with Birmingham City Schools
  • 8 years with Jefferson County Schools
  • 4 years at Holy Family High School as a teacher
  • 1 year at Holy Family High School as an administrator
  • Currently serving at Tarrant High School as an assistant principal

As an experienced educator, school leader, wife, and mother, my vision centers on fostering a supportive and excellence-driven environment at Tarrant High School. I am committed to:

  • Empowering students to believe in their inherent potential
  • Cultivating a positive mindset and attitude throughout our school community

  • Raising academic rigor to promote educational excellence
